Step into the magic of a late summer evening with us for The Last Taste of Summer, our final farm-to-table dinner of the season, hosted on the back patio of the Mercantile & Café. As the sun begins to dip behind the trees, we’ll gather around a long communal table to share a slow, seasonal meal, meaningful conversation, and the beauty of this in-between time of year.

This special dinner, served from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, features six thoughtfully crafted courses prepared by our very own Chef Teresa—whose culinary talent brings intention and flavor to every plate. The evening begins with a complimentary summer mocktail, and guests are welcome to bring their own beverage of choice (this is a BYOB event). Each course will be served on a collection of vintage Liberty Blue and café-white dinnerware, creating a charming tablescape that tells a story of its own.

To close the evening, a guest pastry chef will be crafting a surprise dessert—a sweet ending to a memorable night under the stars.

Though this marks our final summer dinner, we’re delighted to share that this beloved series will return in the fall. Consider this a heartfelt send-off to the season.

Course Highlights Include:

  • Course 1: Fried potato gratin with tomato hollandaise and freshly pickled cucumbers
  • Course 2: Grilled peach salad with whipped goat cheese, pecans, and honey-poppyseed dressing
  • Course 3: Shrimp over white corn grits with piperade and a white wine butter sauce
  • Course 4: Heirloom tomatoes with grilled halloumi, cucumber, and sumac-lime vinaigrette
  • Course 5: Pan-fried salmon with lemon buerre blanc, crispy kale, and sprouted sunflower seeds
  • Course 6: Dessert created by our guest pastry chef

Seats are limited for this intimate gathering. Join us as we raise a glass to summer’s final notes—and look ahead to what the next season holds.
