I have never been one for pushing the arrival of Christmas even though I am a true Christmas addict. Scanning the aisles at Halloween and seeing out of the corner of my eye, Christmas merchandise, honestly makes me cringe. Getting ready for our Holiday Open House that we held mid November took a little getting used to. Trust me, as I was unpacking the arriving Christmas merchandise this Fall in the unusually balmy weather, the Christmas spirit was eluding me, thus the inspiration. Pumping up the Christmas music in the barn helped along with all the visual goodness of the sparkly and decorative items we were unpacking. By the time the barn was set up, I was kind of wishing that I did not have to take a break for Thanksgiving and could move right into my favorite time of the time. Pause we did, after the sale, and now that it is December 1st, my mind has given me full permission to move ahead with this most glorious of Holidays!
We are back in the barn, bedecking it in more Holiday finery and dousing it with spirit in case it was too early for you the first time around in November. Many of our items have found new places of honor in the homes of all our shopping guests but we have searched to find you the items that sold out on the first day and more beautiful pieces to take the others places. Here is a little eye candy from the Holiday Sale we held in November.
That is just a snippet of the “rooms” we assembled in the barn along with their Christmas adornment. If your finding yourself quietly singing, I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas while in line at the grocery store, or making note of some of your favorite Holiday movies that are about to run, or beginning to welcome the chill in the air…you just might be getting hit with the Christmas spirit. Don’t put it out! Come out to the barn this weekend and light it on fire. We are hanging the greens and the wreaths, dusting off the sleigh from it’s long seasonal nap, stacking the logs next to the outdoor fire pit and heating up the mulled cider. We have invited a couple of our favorite vendors who will be bringing their lovely handmades as well. Okay, okay, so we are doing this in the rain…that is just fine, for the rain will have passed for you to come out to the barn on a beautifully cool yet sunny, seasonal day. Along with crossing off some items on that list you are making you might pick up some decor ideas that you can use for items you already own or be inspired to create. Most certainly you will not be immune to the spirit of the Christmas season which pervades the barn.
I hope to seriously continue the Christmas countdown with you, in the barn this weekend.
